MiLifeStatus research Marie Labussière has received Maastricht University’s Dissertation Prize 2022 for her thesis: Native-born but not yet citizen: Citizenship and educational outcomes of the children of immigrants in the Netherlands. Marie received the prestigious award at the 47th Dies Natalis of Maastricht University.
Marie Labussière wins Maastricht University Dissertation Award 2022
Marie Labussière has been awarded the Advances in Life Course Research Young Scholar Award 2022, for her paper "Citizenship and education trajectories among children of immigrants: A transition-oriented sequence analysis", co-authored with Mark Levels and Maarten Vink.
The MiLifeStatus project organized a 1-day workshop at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, European University Institute, in Florence on Thursday 14 October 2021. Team members and invited speakers presented their work.
Floris Peters presented a paper co-authored with Swantje Falcke and Maarten Vink on ‘Becoming Dutch at what cost? The impact of application fees for naturalisation by low-income immigrants in the Netherlands’ at the IMISCOE 2021 conference.
Marie Labussière presented the paper "Timing of citizenship acquisition and immigrants’ children educational outcomes: a family fixed-effects approach" at the 2021 Spring meeting of the International Sociological Association, organised by the research committee 28 "Social Stratification". The conference took place online on June 2-4, 2021, and was held under the theme of “Accumulation and compensation of inequalities”.
